Set in a real pet shop with an excellent performance and starring role for actor Craig Roberts (from Submarine), Richard Pengelley's compelling promo for Kassidy's One Man Army is a real treat.
"The idea really is about a kid who works in a pet shop and wants out so slowly plots his escape," explains Richard. "He is oppressed by his boss inside and the world outside and feels trapped. As a kid I found pet shops a little freaky and in a way I still do.
"There were a few references to [1970s Brit movie] Kes in the treatment and a hint of oppression with darker themes which where expanded after chatting to the band, they really liked the idea of escape. The track has an amazing inspiring feel to it so these images worked.
"Craig was amazing to work with and he really got into it, he's captivating on camera and truly funny off camera. A proper dude.
"We had to shoot while the shop was open to the public so the style had to be handheld and flexible, which Ben Spence our DP captured beautifully. There's even a great improv moment with a customer and Craig who served them while playing his role. A great team all round to be honest and a great day's filming".

Blurring the edges between full-scale feature and music video, Mattias Erik Johansson delivers this quite epic trailer-style promo for the Kaiser Chiefs' shiny new single Listen To Your Head.
"Our location manager, Damon Crane, was on foot for three days negotiating with anyone and their mother's aunt to secure as many shooting options as possible," explains exec producer Mikey Levelle.

"Our cast were simply amazing and of course, without the realistic time keeping expertise of James Dyer beautiful cinematography of Matt Fox we never would have got there".

Jonnie Malachi delivers a bittersweet tale of first crush, love rivals and heartache in this cute and dramatic promo for the new Scouting For Girls single Love How It Hurts.
"This was a great job as Semera Khan and Sony/Epic had total faith in us," explains Malachi. "I had a free hand creatively to come up with the storyline and the label were supportive with all my casting choices. We were really lucky with our casting session - the kids were mindblowing, and their auditions knocked my socks off. The 'little badboy', Eric Dibb Fuller, has actually been playing the Artful Dodger in the West End version of Oliver! It was also really lucky that we could find the younger and older versions of the main roles looks-wise...
"I had also just photographed the comedian Eric Lampaert for his Edinburgh comedy festival posters, so had him squarely in mind for older geek. I wanted this to be 'bittersweet' - and hopefully it has the right balance of cute sweetness, with some luvverly heartbreaking dark undertones...
"Big thanks to ALL crew involved for nailing their roles 101% on a (naturally) tight budget. Special thanks to Mikey (ye ever smiling) Levelle, producer extraordinaire, and for thinking of this great part of the world, Broadstairs, for the retro 'land that time forgot' Eighties vibe. And I raise my glass to the big man on the Alexa, Monsieur Matt Fox, who captured some beautiful images and hand-held it like a champ."
