A young man trains for the challenge of his life, in Jack Lilley's oddball promo for MarthaGunn.&nbsp;Following the impeccable visual for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/07/12/marthagunn-holding-fire-jack-lilley/71843">Holding The Fire</a>&nbsp;last month, Lilley switches up his approach, this time creating a narrative video with no performance elements - and it works brilliantly.&nbsp;Starring&nbsp;James Copplestone Farmer as the Scrabble-obsessed protagonist, the concept focuses on the training up to a series of competitions against other pro players - each played by a member of the band in hilarious disguises. The debt to Netflix smash series The Queen's Gambit is clear, but that only makes it more enjoyable.&nbsp;It's another knockout video from Lilley and team, and deserves a rewatch or two.[imgtoken data:1]

Just when you think you&#39;ve dumped your girlfriend or boyfriend, it turns out they&#39;ve dumped you. That&#39;s the principle behind Dylan Holmes Williams&#39;s video for Banfi&#39;s Never Really Cared, where several biters get well and truly bit, in increasingly imaginative episodes.Banfi bandmembers are always on hand to witness these small catastrophes too - at least until a middle-aged astronaut decides to give&nbsp;Earth itself the big heave-ho. It&#39;s an epic finale to a thoroughly entertaining work.Not quite sure about Dylan&#39;s account on the making of the astronaut&#39;s scenes though.&nbsp;Surely smoking in space isn&#39;t allowed...?

Jones has a mournful look around his hometown in Gregg Houston&#39;s clip for&nbsp;Gospel Truth.Wandering through his hometown of Hornchurch before he embarks on the next chapter of his life, Jones sits in various locations that are personal to him - the family living room, the local pub, and the greasy spoon cafe.&nbsp;The atmosphere is contemplative and the intercut performance sees him mostly draped in harsh shadow, making for an aesthetically striking contrast to the soft, even light of the every day. The past versus the future.

Gregg Houston and his crew have pulled off this stunning,&nbsp;one-shot live session, located at Clubs 2004 in Hornchurch, Essex - a&nbsp;working men&#39;s club frequented by the singer&#39;s father, and one which he himself&nbsp;has performed in&nbsp;many times over the years.In this video, Joseph manages to&nbsp;deliver a great performance while Steadicam op&nbsp;Josh Brooks walks around him, capturing it all live.&nbsp;And Gregg Houston says that it was no easy task to achieve.&quot;On the night we had everything set up before the regulars arrived. In order to get the take we had to turn the football off [the TV], and so there was a certain amount of pressure to get the performance nailed as soon as we could. We ended up doing three takes although Joseph nailed it in one and the first take is the first one used here.&quot;
