The latest video for The Academic by TEARJERKER - that's&nbsp;Hope Kemp and Ronan Corrigan - starts with lead singer Craig leaping into a swimming pool with no water, lying bloodied and broken as he begins singing Not Your Summer.Situated in a deserted holiday resort - it was filmed in Portrush,&nbsp;Northern Ireland - while intercut with footage from vintage Irish Tourist Board films of idyllic summer holidays, this performance video aims to capture the frustrations of a squandered summer.But ultimately this still&nbsp;looks as good as a picture postcard - courtesy of vibrantly colourful set-ups captured by Adam Singodia and graded by Vlad Barin, who also worked on creating the dream Americana-esque look of the band's <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/06/02/academic-kids-dont-end-me-tearjerker/71219" target="_blank">Kids (Don't End Up Like Me)</a>.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Having directed two videos for The Academic last year, Hope Kemp and Ronan Corrigan have given their directing partnership a new name - TEARJERKER - and now directed a third one for the Irish band.With a theme of being stuck in the small town you grew up in, TEARJERKER's follow-up to Anything Could Happen and Acting My Age is a series of mundane situations, where band frontman Craig finds himself inserted in surprising places - inside a vending machine, and inside a washing machine in a laundrette, lying in a freezer in the supermarket, and so on.In fact, with splendid work by DoP Adam&nbsp;Singodia and colourist Vlad Barin&nbsp;evoking several cinematic visions of&nbsp;suburbia, this small town is a weirdly alluring place to visit.[imgtoken data:1]
