Things are not what&nbsp;they seem in David M. Helman's video for James Vincent McMorrow, which follows a happy-go-lucky twentysomething on his way to Hollywood.&nbsp;Opening with a quote from the oracle that is Nicolas Cage, the quirky promo follows an aspiring actor - played by fellow music video director&nbsp;Ezra Ewen - who is trying to find his feet in the city.&nbsp;With all the gear but no idea, Ewen broadcasts his newfound "success" to his followers on Instagram, and we follow the mishaps and stumbles on the&nbsp;journey to his first project... a self-tape casting for a shady Craiglist advert.&nbsp;A scene that really stands out is the drunken dancing down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, another nod to Nicolas Cage in the film&nbsp;Leaving Las Vegas.&nbsp;Beautifully shot by&nbsp;Hayden Mason, the picturesque charm and wonder of Los Angeles is a perfect backdrop to the narrative, and the&nbsp;use of mobile phone footage and montage style edits creates a hyperactive and frenetic feel.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Star Wars: The Last Jedi&nbsp;director Rian Johnson&nbsp;directs a music video for LCD Soundsystem, starring the marvellous Sissy Spacek and David Straithairn as a married couple of ageing scientists who make a&nbsp;momentous discovery.They discover the secret of teleportation.&nbsp;But unfortunate events conspire to turn this astonishing feat of scientific brilliance&nbsp;into a blip of human history.Johson&#39;s flirtation into music video is perhaps an unlikely vehicle for a&nbsp;LCD Soundsystem song but it really works. The director&nbsp;and his Twilight Zone-style short story&nbsp;wisely makes the most of&nbsp;the quality&nbsp;of its star performers. As a result it will stays in the memory.&nbsp;

Shomi Patwary has&nbsp;directed this lavish promo for Pusha T&#39;s&nbsp;M.P.A, with appearances from A$AP Rocky and The-Dream, and the customary bevy of nubile females.It&rsquo;s a throwback to late Seventies low-budget filmmaking and X-rated&nbsp;movies, with old school equipment and upholstery shown alongside the video&rsquo;s more modern devices and fashion.&nbsp;While Kanye West (who also guests on the track) is noticeably absent from the video, he at least gets a text message shout out when one of the several girls on set sends a message asking if the superstar has shown up yet.

In the&nbsp;video for Seven Suns directed by John Merizalde,&nbsp;Raury tackles the dangers of technology addiction, and more specifically that of cell phones. Sound captions of said phone-addicts can be heard in the beginning of the video, as&nbsp;Raury and his clan aka LoveRenaissance are introduced.&nbsp;&nbsp;Clad with bats and leather jackets, they&nbsp;take matters into their own hands to&nbsp;wake the masses from the their phone-dependency&nbsp;and the zombie-like state that they&#39;re in while using them.&nbsp;The&nbsp;aim is to match the exteme nature of the addiction (&quot;I check my phone at least once every 5 minutes or else I have a nervous breakdown&quot;) with their measures, grabbing phones off of passersby and smashing them to oblivion.&nbsp;Raury&#39;s track &quot;Seven Suns&quot; sets the tone, with the drowned out guitar riffs and vibrant lyrics matching the revolutionary feel of the video.
