Kelvin Jones has directed the video for Aitch's&nbsp;My G, featuring Ed Sheeran - taken from the Manchester rapper's recently released debut album -&nbsp;where the majority of the video budget was donated to the Down’s Syndrome Association.The stripped-back promo centres around Aitch writing a letter to his younger sister, Gracie, reflecting on their relationship and the love he has for her, and in the video he is&nbsp;positioned in front of an old-fashioned television set displaying images and memories of him and his sister growing up. Ed Sheeran features as an animated illustration, singing&nbsp;the lyrical verses of the song.The promo was filmed on a day-long shoot at the Langdon Down Centre, the home of the Down’s Syndrome Association Charity. The Centre opened in 1868, as a home and place of education for people with learning disabilities. The centre broke boundaries and stigmas at the time of it’s opening, it is therefore significant that is the setting of this promo, which talks of acceptance and unconditional love.&nbsp;“I have a close relationship with Aitch in and out of work, and it was a huge privilege to work on this song which is dedicated to his sister, who we all know and love," says Kelvin Jones. "It was a pleasure to bring this visual to life and try new things at the same time - this was my first time working with animation and I enjoyed it a lot, I will definitely be doing that again.”&nbsp; &nbsp;

A fun-loving fugitive is on the run in a world where joy is outlawed, in Ricky Gibb's entertaining video&nbsp;for Duvall &amp; Sam Gray's Good Feeling.In the extended intro to the video, the scene is set where&nbsp;Brady, the desperately thrill-seeking lead character, is cornered by a pair&nbsp;of plain-clothes Fun Police, finding refuge in a dreary bar that is&nbsp;sparsely populated with a handful of downtrodden characters. From there the director shows his skill with an ensemble of comedy actors, as with his recent video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/03/07/murkage-dave-us-lot-ricky-gibb/75237" target="_blank">Murkage Dave</a>, in an inventive take on the classic hostage-taking narrative."Good Feeling was such a fun track to write to," says Gibb. "On the surface the music is super sunny and feel-good, but the lyrics talk about isolation and the idea of coming to terms with oneself. It’s an interesting mix, and definitely provided a lot of food for thought for the writing process."[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It's a playful and often hilarious central narrative - where the Fun Police's ploy of smuggling a speaker in the pizza boy's delivery spectacularly backfires. But ultimately, this succeeds thanks to some&nbsp;impressive performances from a cast committed to&nbsp;delivering this far-fetched,&nbsp;high-concept idea.&nbsp;"I feel like we all just want to crack on with our lives in relative peace without being fucked with," continues Gibb. "So being able to explore this desire through the character of Brady was probably quite a cathartic process for me. Looking back across my work, it seems like I find a lot of joy in forcing characters (often the artist) to navigate some real compromising situations."I’ve been reflecting on why this might be, and realistically I think it’s just probably quite a comforting reminder for me to see examples of people traversing some bullshit and getting out the other side. Even if it is by the skin of their teeth."&nbsp;

As a bunch of old friends cling on through the final hours of a houseparty, Murkage Dave makes a timely appearance in Ricky Gibb';s perceptive and&nbsp;wonderfully performed video for Us Lot.This has been framed by Gibb as a comedy drama with dialogue leading into the track,&nbsp;featuring the interaction between five twenty-something&nbsp;friends, who have become less close through the passage of time, then finding a moment to come together again with the mysterious help of Murkage Dave.&nbsp;And this really does feel like a party in the final stages after its been going for several hours, with the characters in various&nbsp;states of mind, from the guy enthusing about crypto, to the blissed-out raver, to the individual sweating on the sofa riding out a bad trip - and seeing Murkage Dave materialise once the track goes on the speakers.[imgtoken data:1]Gibb reveals that the video came from a lot of brainstorming between himself and Dave - pretty much since they first worked together two years ago, on the video for Miles from Kinshasa's Motions. "It's the second time Dave and I have worked together on a music video: although based on the endless conversations and concepts we’ve bounced off of one another over the past two years it feels as though we've created a hundred projects together," he says."For me, the lyrical content is always the first jumping-off point when developing the idea,&nbsp;and Dave’s words are an absolute joy to respond to creatively.&nbsp;"He paints such vulnerable, personable, and relatable images; something I seek to do within my own work too.[imgtoken data:2]&nbsp;"In my own life, it has felt harder and harder to see friends and maintain connections. This is something that weighs on me heavily. Studying the sentiments expressed in Us Lot&nbsp;really reminded me that some bonds will always remain, despite how infrequently we may get to see one another."This felt like quite an unusual one to approach from a logistical recording perspective on the day; the idea that each of them was inextricably entwined, although seemingly severed in the space. With the strength of an incredibly talented cast - Victoria Nwaesei as Dom, Will Stevens as Earl, Alex Flick as Oscar, Rosie Goddard as Maisey, Derrick Methu as Bigz -&nbsp;and crew (including Joshua Fry as DOP, Tomasso Colleli on Steadicam), we were able to run the entire video through start to finish akin to a theatre show, and really allow the cast to explore their characters and the space equally in front of us.”He has done a great job with this, his first video since signing to KODE. An auspicious beginning which bodes very well for the future.&nbsp;&nbsp;
