Jash, home of a super-team of comedy hipsters including Susan Seidelman, Tim &amp; Eric, and others, have a new pay-per-view show&nbsp;Rubberhead. It&nbsp;promises to be weird, and of course this segment directed by Eric Wareheim&nbsp;delivers big time. It&#39;s weird, and satirical and hilarious&nbsp;in the way&nbsp;that&nbsp;only Eric Wareheim can manage. The way that&nbsp;can bring on nightmares.It&#39;s also a video for Mr Oizo&#39;s Ham. And where there is Mr Oizo, there is inevitably Flat Eric.&nbsp;John C&nbsp;Reilly and Kyle Pacek play a couple of classic Wareheim grotesques, in a parallel America where everyone is obese, vicious or terrified, and packing heat. And when you really want to get your hands on a Flat Eric, you may well need to use a weapon. Makes perfect sense...&nbsp;&nbsp;in short, this is Eric Wareheim at his brilliant best&nbsp;- marvellous, hilarious, just a little bit terrifying.

Paolo&#39;s fellow performers&nbsp;are real Hollywood characters, who haven&#39;t tasted much success in Tinseltown. But it isn&#39;t a grim portrayal of&nbsp;the has-beens and the never-weres either - it&#39;s a celebration.Like&nbsp;Iron City,&nbsp;the other song just released from Paolo Nutini&#39;s&nbsp;new album Caustic Love, Scream (Funk My Life Up) highlights the singer&#39;s soulful growl and a sound that owe a big debt to Sixties&nbsp;R&amp;B. Nez&#39;s video also has a nostalgic feel, but from a different era, back when Romanek and Corbijn were mixing pop and the street and making art.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Young singer-songwriter Meg Myers&nbsp;unleashes an intense performance in Jordan Bahat&#39;s video for Desire that&nbsp;easily matches the song&#39;s sexually-charged&nbsp;message.&nbsp;She&#39;s a very singleminded girl indeed...But the Jordan - who is now represented by Caviar in the UK, Europe and the US &ndash;&nbsp;adds a very welcome supernatural,&nbsp;almost gothic element. Jamie Commons - Lead Me Home

Jordan Bahat charts the journey of a suitcase which becomes separated from it&rsquo;s owner &ndash; in this case US pop band Fun &ndash; in his excellent promo for Why Am I The One. Follow the case on it&rsquo;s cinematic adventures &ndash; as the viewer gets emotionally involved &ndash; before being reunited with the band. Curiosity will almost certainly keep you watching till the end.&ldquo;The band came with the idea of shooting a video about lost luggage&rdquo; explains Jordan. &ldquo;So I wanted to create an epic journey for this bag &ndash; but I also wanted the viewer to connect emotionally with the bag as if it were a character. As if, when they see the bag, they think of a lost dog or an orphan instead.&ldquo;Amongst the crew we immediately named the bag Stanley. I wanted Stanley to have a face that we could identify, but that at the same time, I wanted the face to look accidental as if it were constructed by natural elements of the bag&rsquo;s design and maybe some accumulated wear from travel. And also, the face needed to have a certain ambiguity so we could get gather different emotions from Stanley dependent on the environment or actions of the scene without having to actually change anything about the face. So when he&rsquo;s trekking across America it&rsquo;s as if he&rsquo;s smiling with his hair waving in the wind. But when he&rsquo;s in abandoned on a sidewalk with mud splattered across his face, it reads like a really pathetic scenario.&ldquo;The scope of the video was also very important. I wanted Stanley to go on a kind of coming of age road-trip. One of the earlier designs for Stanley&rsquo;s journey had him falling in love with another bag, witnessing the biker character having sex with a roadside prostitute, getting stabbed in mafia fight sequence&hellip;That would have been a different video I&rsquo;m sure. But we went with that idea &mdash; that Stanley had to physically travel and see the world. Have his Eat, Pray, Love experience or something.&ldquo;To actually shoot the video, we had a day with the band in Seattle based on their manic touring schedule. Then we came back to LA and shot the more localized stuff &ndash; the pawn shop and street sequences, the mafia sequence, etc. The last day of production was dedicated to the road trip montage which broke down into a 250 mile road trip around Southern California in order to capture coast, fields, desert and snow. Mark, the guy who played the biker in Seattle, actually came down to LA to carry on his role and shoot the road trip sequence. It was a lot of fun and a great way to cap off production. Anyway, a lot of running around for five and a half minutes&rdquo;.

Fun. - Why Am I The One

Jordan Bahat mixes an abstract blend of a live shoot with maverick stage performances from Twenty One Pilots in his promo for the band's single Holding On For You. 
"The intent for the video was to translate the band's live energy onto the screen" says Jordan. "As a two-piece band, Twenty One Pilots invests a lot into the theatrics of their live shows to give their fans a big experience. 
"The song speaks about the demons we wrestle with in our daily lives. Taking some license from the band's knack for theater, I made the demons literal, added some smoke and ballerinas and let the band to the rest."

Twenty One Pilots 'Holding On To You' by Jordan Bahat

Shot in the heart of Los Angeles in the area known as Koreatown where all the signage is in Kanji and the predominant language is Korean, Jordan Bahat delivers this unusual and beautiful promo for Dog Is Dead&#39;s Teenage Daughter.With an exquisite performance from Nao Minami in the lead role, Jordan had this to say about the production:&quot;I wanted to make a film that highlighted the surreal from the mundane - a romantic story that would flow with the languid cadence of Dog Is Dead&#39;s beautiful song and this location provided the perfect setting tonally for that sort of story. The film is about a lonely Korean girl who works at the golf course overnight, collecting discarded golf balls. It&#39;s all a little bit weird, but I wanted the world and the characters to nevertheless feel authentic and real.&quot;Due to constraints, our art department, under production designer Alessandro Marvelli, had to construct the golf-ball man on-site which proved to be a challenge! Just before we turned camera towards the statue for the first time, the entire statue collapsed and golf balls exploded out of the structure in every direction. Luckily, and thankfully, they were able to reconstitute the structure in just a few minutes and I think they really made something beautiful and believable.&quot;Andrew Wheeler, a phenomenal DP with whom I&#39;ve worked before, shot the film on the Alexa with vintage Kowa Anamorphic lenses at about 2000 ISO (even when we could have shot at cleaner ISOs) and used Digicon filters that lifted the blacks in-camera and gave the picture a filmic texture that Matt Osbourne at MPC could manipulate in the grade. Between Wheels and his crew and Matt on the grade, they&#39;ve done phenomenal work.&quot;I&#39;m very thankful to the band and label, OBManagement and Rokkit for supporting a film like this -- as well as my rugged and agile cast and crew led by producer William T Vandegrift who worked tirelessly for two days straight through nights to pull this off. Hope you enjoy.
