Fred Rowson combines the advertising and music video worlds in this comedic hybrid for Yorkshire Tea.&nbsp;Giving an eccentric, tea-driven spin to the traditional 'holiday' video, we see a young character (played by George Kent) packing his bags for Ibiza, choosing to take 10kg of Yorkshire Tea with him, in place of everyday essentials.&nbsp;Packed full of slick transitions, graphic effects and greenscreen hilarity, it's a big change of tone for the brand, and Rowson does a brilliant job in ushering in this new style, in collaboration with ad agency Lucky Generals.[imgtoken data:1]“My favourite ads are the ones that get really, really specific about some small detail of life, and blow it up into something epic - and the creatives at Lucky Generals absolutely nailed that in this spot," says Rowson."From the client to the creatives to my HoDs and cast, we were all on the same page about how good this could be. Nothing But Thieves frontman&nbsp;Conor Mason preaches to an empty derelict room, backdropped by mysterious symbols and iconography, in Sam Bailey's enigmatic video for Tomorrow Is Closed.&nbsp;Mason interacts with empty space as if real people are there watching, and only after inhaling a mysterious gas do we see more characters appear, in a dark, otherworldly realm.[imgtoken data:1]With a post-apocalyptic vibe and a gritty, raw aesthetic, the video raises plenty of questions and answers only some of them. It leaves&nbsp;things open for a follow-up or simply presents an opportunity for viewers to impart their own ideas onto the concept.Mason embodies the main character perfectly, lending an emotional, erratic persona to the role, and the contrast of light and dark encapsulates the mysterious themes.

KSI and Oliver Tree can't catch a break with the woman they love, in the offbeat promo for Voices.Directed by Oliver Tree, and infused with his unique&nbsp;brand of oddball&nbsp;comedy, we see both artists try to impress the same girl at a romantic dinner - and&nbsp;failing dismally. She sees them as being just too childish.&nbsp;From there, we see a cycle of absurdist vignettes, with big hair, streams of CGI tears and a mini-meltdown at a restaurant.&nbsp;From the unique aesthetic through to the top-notch styling and visual effects, the video is a&nbsp;tour de force&nbsp;of creativity. Will no doubt make some waves come award season.&nbsp;

Felix Brady returns to the world of music videos with a groundbreaking tour de force of action and VFX for Greentea Peng.The video for Look To Him is an exploration of originality, creativity, and shaping your own reality, as the promo takes audiences on a journey that defies what we would consider possible - even in the world of movie-making.As Aria Wells, aka Greentea Peng, performs Look To Him and acts as the omniscient narrator from afar,&nbsp;an action sequence unfolds upon the roof of a speeding car&nbsp;between two men - part-fight, part-dance - with the camera as an integral participant to the action, constantly circling the performers.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]The spectacular action sequences were achieved by an innovative application of technology by Felix Brady - who's last foray into music video was the brilliant <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/08/13/greentea-peng-hu-man-directors-cut-felix-brady/66109" target="_blank">Greentea Peng video for Hu-Man</a>&nbsp;in 2020. Since then, he has been honing his filmmaking craft&nbsp;making commercials,&nbsp;and it shows.To achieve a 360 degree shot of choreography atop of a moving car on a limited budget required a highly ambitious technical approach that had not been done before - involving precise 3D mapping, cars on rotating turntables, custom algorithms, and virtual environments supplied by the gaming&nbsp;giant EPIC Games.[imgtoken data:2]Brady's ingenious solution was to 'create'&nbsp;an orbiting camera move by spinning the vehicle on a platform inside an LED volume - on the largest LED stage in Europe, in Latvia. Virtual backgrounds, supplied by EPIC Games, originally created for the videogame The Matrix Awakens, were then synced to match the car’s rotation.In fact, Brady&nbsp;utilized a never-done-before filming technique involving precise 3D mapping and bespoke algorithms to offset in-camera tilt, jib, and pan, to track with the animated backgrounds. The result is a dizzying, dazzling display, where fantasy blockbuster action meets a&nbsp;playfulness&nbsp;inspired by the music of Greentea Peng.[imgtoken data:3]“I felt equally as passionate about the creative and the song as I did with the technical aspects," says Brady. "The video is really all about source energy and believing you can tap into it at any time and so you don't need to look to others for that.“The car is the vessel for this idea. The characters atop the car are representative of the flamboyant side and the serious side, the transience of life and all its intertwined conflicts."Felix adds, “I couldn't be happier with the outcome. KSI takes on himself in an explosive boxing match, in Troy Roscoe's slick and entertaining VFX-fired&nbsp;promo for Not Over Yet,&nbsp;featuring Tom Grennan.&nbsp;The first half of the video explores the preparation for the match, presenting slick vignettes where giant hailstones fall from the sky, and KSI plunges into a futuristic looking ice bath, training underwater - referencing an iconic photo of Muhammed Ali.&nbsp;When things get going inside the ring, things take a huge step up, boasting a true feat of careful pre-production and VFX based around a motion control shoot. So it's not so surprising that this is No.1 on YouTube's UK Music Video chart right now.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;"(This is) most definitely one of my most favourite shoots and videos to date!" says Troy Roscoe.&nbsp;"So much went into this. From pre-production to final delivery it was a meticulous process, as there were so many things that could go wrong.&nbsp;I knew we had our work cut out.&nbsp;"Usually you find yourself in a position where people have experience in how to pull these things off. But none of us had seen anything like it, as it’s very hard to make a clone come into contact with one another through VFX. Usually you would use deep fakes, but we went for an organic approach so that it looks as real as possible. The New Hope Club boys experience four seasons in one day, in Troy Roscoe's feel-good promo for Getting Better.&nbsp;Walking around a residential block, we see the group take the elements in their stride, as they joyously perform in the middle of the street.&nbsp;"This was for sure one of my favourite shoots to date," says Roscoe. "Admittedly, as soon as I decided I wanted New Hope Club to walk through an abundance of weather elements, we had our work cut out. There was so much room for error, as instead of going for visual effects, we opted for real physical weather simulations."&nbsp;&nbsp;"The boys made this an absolute breeze - pardon the pun - as their raw talent, charisma and charm brought the visual to life and made it a pleasure to work with them. I think telling an artist you want them to walk through real rain, wind and snow is always a difficult conversation, but the boys were down for anything in order to achieve the epic video that we did."&nbsp;The playful concept is executed perfectly, and makes for a unique and refreshing visual. Now someone go get the group (and crew)&nbsp;a hot cup of tea!&nbsp;
