It was the month where England went closer to winning a football tournament than at any time in the past 55 years. Before, ultimately, not winning...
Oh well. It was also a big month for music videos! The production community has been putting the pedal to the metal for the past few months, and although restrictions remain in place, we saw the fruits of the earnest labours of spring and early summer during July.
Big videos for some of the biggest grime acts appeared - Aitch, Dave (with Stormzy), Fredo (with Headie One), Headie One (just Headie) - made by some of the UK's hottest directors right now, including KC Locke and KLVDR.
There was the blockbuster for the Normani/Cardi B team-up from Tanu Mainu, the Ukranian director going stratospheric in the US. And another unmistakeable comic masterpiece for deadpan DJ Salvatore Ganacci and Bosnian/Swedish director Vedran Rupic.
There were terrific videos for Sam Fender by Brock Neal-Roberts, Arlo Parks by Bedroom, Lolo Zouai by Amber Grace Johnson - and lots more besides. Lots.
