Post production house Loco is celebrating a 10 year partnership with the UK Music Video Awards by announce their sponsorship of the Best Director category at this year's ceremony, that takes place on Thursday, October 26th - one week today (Oct 19th).As with all previous years of the awards, Loco have created the video packages for this year's show, to be projected on the big screens on the night at the Roundhouse. Working closely with event director Louise Stevens of Ballistic Events, Loco’s Arlene Dignam has led our production team to video packages for more than 30 categories. Loco editors Emily Ledger and Liam Hawe also worked with video artist Sam Bailey to animate the visual stings. Working with David Knight, editorial director of the UKMVAs (and editor of Promonews) they created the opening montage. Loco was established in 1994 as a boutique post production facility and has grown into a full-service video production and postproduction creative hot shop. We are a talented team of animators, editors, VFX artists, colourists and directors who share a passion for visual media. Music videos are a natural extension of our creative ethos. Loco Creative Director Danny Coster says, “Loco loves working with music videos as it gives our team real freedom to explore finishing techniques and styles. We’re proud to sponsor the Best Director category and give recognition to some truly outstanding film making." The UKMVAs is the premier awards shows dedicated to innovation and creativity in music video around the world. It's happening in London this Friday, September 29th at Ham Yard Theatre in Soho, and tickets are on sale now.More than a dozen nominated videos will be screened in full at the screening, which is part of the War Child Film Festival which is screening music-based films from today, September 26th to October 6th in order to raise money to help children affected by conflict. Ticket sales for the UKMVAs Nominations Showcase will support the charity's vital work protecting children whose lives have been torn apart by war.Tickets are just £12 for a screening of a cross-section of videos from different music genres that have all been nominated for the UK Music Video Awards 2017. That will be followed by a discussion between UKMVAs editorial director David Knight and Georgia Hudson (pictured below), one of Britain's leading music video directors who is nominated for Best Director at this year's awards.Furthermore, there is also a screening of the Jonas Akerlund-directed concert film Rammstein: Paris – one of the films nominated in the UKMVAs' new Live Concert Film award - as part of the War Child Film Festival, at the Vue Piccadilly in London this coming Sunday, October 1st. PPL is the latest organisation to partner with the UK Music Video Awards 2017, sponsoring the award for Best Urban Video UK at the UKMVAs ceremony taking place next month. PPL is the UK music industry’s collective management organisation (CMO) for tens of thousands of performers and record companies, licensing recorded music in the UK for playing in public, or broadcast on BBC and commercial radio and TV. The first round of judging in the best video and technical achievement categories at the UK Music Video Awards 2017 must end at midnight tonight, BST. So if you are an MVAs jury member who has yet to judge their assigned category, do it today - or at least before midnight tonight.
