Dominic Leung joins Nick Goldsmith in MVPS's Hammer & Tongs special on March 5th
Promonews - 25th Feb 2026
Nick Goldsmith and Dominic Leung, two original members of Hammer & Tongs, the directing collective that made some of the greatest videos of the late Nineties and early Noughties, will be the special guests at Music Video Preservation Society next Thursday, March 5th.
Having announced Nick Goldsmith a few days ago, MVPS can now confirm that fellow H&T founder member Dominic Leung will join Goldsmith on stage at the Prince Charles Cinema in central London to discuss the team's body of work with MVPS presenter David Knight, and introduce a selection of their classic videos.

Hammer & Tongs - Nick, Dominic and Garth Jennings - were part of the generation of British talent that emerged in the mid Nineties and blazed a trail in the medium into the Noughties, before breaking into movies. Their body of work includes the iconic video for Blur’s Coffee & TV - immortalised in the poster for this meeting of Music Video Preservation Society - plus classics for Fatboy Slim, Supergrass, Pulp, Bentley Rhythm Ace, REM, Badly Drawn Boy and more.
The collective's videos consistently combined visual ingenuity and humour, with the production environment in music videos during the period allowing them to develop their skills, with brilliant use of in-camera practical effects and post production. Hammer & Tongs had a mission to entertain at the highest level of creativity, and their achievements in the medium have rarely been matched.
A fantastic selection of Hammer & Tongs videos will be screened at the show, with lots more besides as Music Video Preservation Society once again celebrates the artform from the 1970s to the 2020s - including some great work from the first two months of 2026. It follows the recent meeting at The Mildmay Club with special guest Dougal Wilson, and this promises to be another special night.
• Music Video Preservation Society, 8.30pm next Thursday, March 5th at Prince Charles Cinema. Tickets here.
