Yarns: Disinfo 2025 Screening Night on November 13th

Promonews - 23rd Oct 2025

The films made in this year's Yarns competition on the subject of Disinfo are to be premiered at the Curzon Soho on November 13th, and tickets for the 2025 Yarns screening night are now available via Eventbrite.

The evening will celebrate the premiere of three short films — Don’t Believe A Word I Say, CLANKERS, and Angling For Love — created by this year’s selected filmmakers Ciara O’Rourke, Naomi Pallas, and Tom Tennant. The showcase will be followed by a filmmaker Q&A and drinks reception.

The event will be hosted by Craig Bingham and Ozzie Pullin, fellow directors, close friends, and hosts of the podcast Now Then Talks, which explores the creative highs and lows of filmmaking.

“What excites us most about filmmaking is the creative process,” say Bingham and Pullin. “It’s the one thing that’s truly unique to everyone — whether you’re working in the commercial world or independent film. There’s no formula for making a film; it always starts with a feeling, an idea, and the courage to act on it. That’s what we love about the Yarns competition. It encourages young filmmakers, supports their creativity, and gives them a platform to take risks. We’re excited to celebrate that, host, and support in any way we can.”

This year, Yarns is asking for audience support to help ensure that the competition remains free to enter. By purchasing a ticket, attendees directly contribute to the continuation of this unique non-profit initiative, helping nurture new talent and keep opportunities accessible for emerging filmmakers.

Now in its tenth year, Yarns continues to champion the next generation of filmmaking talent. A free-to-enter, non-profit competition run by Soho-based edit house Stitch, Yarns provides unsigned filmmakers with the opportunity to produce original short films with industry-level support.

This year’s brief invited filmmakers to respond to the theme of ‘disinformation’ through a treatment and script. From the submissions, three filmmakers were selected to receive £2000 in production funding, as well as mentorship and post-production support from Kodak, Sine Audio Post, Freefolk, 1920vfx, Absolute Post, and Stitch’s junior editor roster, Homespun.
