UK Music Video Awards 2025: FKA twigs, A$AP Rocky, Doechii, Little Simz, Sabrina, Wolf Alice lead the nominations

Promonews - 2nd Oct 2025

FKA twigs heads the list of multi-nominated artists for this year’s UK Music Video Awards, with nine shortlist places overall, including six nominations for her eight-minute video for Eusexua – the most for any single video at this year’s annual celebration of global music video creativity.

Award shortlists have been announced in 38 categories at the 18th annual UKMVAs, recognising the best work in music videos in the UK and around the world, and the creative and technical talent behind them, defined by music genre, craft and technical expertise and individual achievement.

Among all artists, FKA twigs leads a field in terms of nominated music videos, followed by A$AP Rocky, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Travis Scott, Little Simz and Wolf Alice.

A$AP Rocky’s video for Tailor Swif has garnered five nods, while the promo for Sabrina Carpenter’s global hit Manchild has four nominations. Both videos are helmed by directing duo Vania & Muggia, who are the second most nominated directors at this year’s UKMVAs, just behind Jordan Hemingway, the director of Eusexua and three other twigs videos recognised this year – for Childlike Things, Striptease and Perfect Stranger - and a Travis Scott clip.

Two Doechii videos feature in the shortlists, for Denial Is A River and Anxiety, scooping four nods between them. Wolf Alice also have four nominations - three for their Bloom Baby Bloom promo - while Little Simz’s videos for Flood and Young have five nods.

Other UK artists with multiple nominations include AJ Tracey, Bakar, Celeste, Disclosure, Rival Consoles, Sam Fender, Sekou and Tinie Tempah. Among non-UK artists that have received multiple mentions in this year’s UKMVAs are Addison Rae, Bad Bunny, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, DJ Snake, Fontaines D.C., Jackson Wang, OK Go, Talking Heads, Travis Scott and Yamê.

Vania & Muggia and Jordan Hemingway are in the shortlist for Best Director at the 2025 UK Music Video Awards together with Gabriel Moses, director of nominated videos for Travis Scott and Clipse, James Mackel, director and co-director of the Doechii videos, Wolf Alice director Colin Solal Cardo, and OK Go frontman and video director, Damian Kulash Jr.

In the Best New Director category British directors Fa & Fon, India Rose Harris, Jake Erland and Luna Carmoon face competition from Canadian director Alex Acy and French director Melchior Leroux. The Best Production Company award, presented in association with Kodak, sees a face-off between Object & Animal, DIVISION, Iconoclast, freenjoy, ProdCo and Stink Films.

The winners of this year’s UKMVAs will be announced at the awards ceremony on 30th October at Magazine London, when directors and production companies will be celebrated for their outstanding creative work alongside other filmmaking talent in areas including Cinematography, Colour Grading, Casting, Production Design, Choreography, Styling, Editing, Animation and Visual Effects.

Since its inception in 2008, the UKMVAs has grown into the leading global awards programme for music video creativity, the most important annual event in the calendar for the world of music video production, and the biggest party of the year for the music video making community.

Tickets for the UK Music Video Awards 2025 at Magazine London on October 30th are on sale now.
