'British Music Video: A Visual Journey' at Regent St Cinema, Thursday July 10th

Fifty years of British music videos will be celebrated at a special event being held at Regent St Cinema in central London, next Thursday, July 10th - taking the groundbreaking video for Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, released in 1975, as it’s jumping off point.
The evening will celebrate the creativity of British artists and directors as they explore artistic expression and cultural representation through the music video format. The event is being presented by the University of Westminster, Regent Street Cinema, Seven Seas Films and The UK Music Video Awards.
A curated selection of significant British videos of the past fifty years will be screened - presented by David Knight of Promonews and the UK Music Video Awards - followed by a panel discussion moderated by India McTaggart, entertainment correspondent at The Daily Telegraph.
Panel guests will include Somesuch director and UKMVA-winner Tajana Tokyo; COMPULSORY Film co-founder and EP Kadri Mahmoud; Dr Michael L. Austin, senior lecturer of Music and Sound and programme leader in music production at Edge Hill University, author of Audiovisual Alterity: Representing Ourselves and Others in Music Videos; plus a special guest, yet to be announced.
