The UK Music Video Awards, the greatest global celebration of excellence in music video, has launched its 18th annual event and is now open for entries.

The UKMVAs has opened its doors today (June 11th) for UK Music Video Awards 2025, with the premier awards show for music video creativity now accepting submissions for work accomplished in the UK and around the world in music video and music visual projects during the past year on the official website.

It's the start of the annual journey that will lead to a huge celebration of achievement in music video production in the UK and beyond at the UK Music Video Awards 2025 ceremony, which will take place at Magazine London on Thursday, October 30th.

Once again, the UK Music Video Awards will be honouring the full range of creativity in music videos this year with 38 separate categories, including two new categories. Entrants can submit their work from now until the entry deadline on August 1st 2025. Work entered at the awards must have been completed between August 1st 2024 and July 31st 2025, and as always can be entered in a range of categories, which cover directorial achievement by music genre, technical and craft achievement, live video, and special projects, while there are also awards for individual achievement in several different fields of endeavour.

There are two new awards at UKMVAs 2025. Best Casting in a Video joins the technical and craft achievement categories, recognising the contribution of casting directors in the process of music video production. 

A new honour of Best Low Budget Video has also been added, for visual projects under £5K. This is in addition to the traditional Newcomer categories at the UKMVAs, where entries will no longer have to be under a certain production budget. Here is a full list of categories for UKMVAs 2025:

Since its inception in 2008, the UKMVAs has grown into the most important annual event in the calendar for the world of music video production.
