Sam Davey, award-winning music video director’s agent and EP, has launched Hurry Sundown, a new creative talent agency for directors and editors.
Davey has started the agency with an inaugural roster of talent of directors from Le Pac – the UK home of selected directors from Paris-based production company La Pac – and editors at boutique edit house Shift, together with a curated and bespoke roster of independent talent.
The launch of Hurry Sundown marks a new chapter in Davey's talent management career following his departure as Head of Music at OB42 (formerly OB Management) last year. He gained over 18 years of experience in his previous role, identifying emerging talent and guiding the careers of numerous directors, including some of the most acclaimed directors working in music videos and beyond, including Oscar Hudson, Arnaud Bresson, Georgia Hudson, Sam Pilling, waxxwork and more.

Through his extensive network of artist, label and management relationships, Davey has also secured a bumper crop of high-profile music collaborations with artists such as Jay-Z, Ed Sheeran, Radiohead, Bonobo, Little Simz, Michael Kiwanuka and Sam Fender. In 2021, he won the coveted Best Agent award at the UK Music Video Awards.
The roster of Hurry Sundown includes a range of directors at Le Pac in London – including Quentin Deronzier (who recently collaborated with M.I.A.), AB/CD/CD (directors of the new Cat Burns video), Emile Moutaud, Lisa Paclet and Claire Arnold. And Davey will also be representing the five editors at Shift – Saam Hodivala, Paul O’Reilly, Adam Buckmaster, Chris Coupland and Rachael Spann.
"I wanted an agency that represents more than just one type of creative, not only incredible directors and production companies within the video space, but also some of the most exciting editors working in TV commercials and content,” says Davey.
“I find such a joy in giving talent the time, helping them develop their craft and hopefully open a few doors where they can express their creativity. One of the most rewarding parts of this job has always been making connections, forging new partnerships with likeminded good people. So ultimately that’s the culture I want to continue at Hurry Sundown."
