Park Pictures welcomes Abigail Wilson to UK roster

Park Pictures London have announced the signing of writer/director/actor Abigail Wilson, following the UK premiere of her Park Pictures-produced short film Overdrive.
With a keen eye for the peculiar, a passion for the eccentric, and an innate talent for humour, London-based Abigail Wilson won a Newcomer award at the UKMVAs in 2021 for her impressive debut music video for Modeselektor's Mean Friend, and then won a second award at the UKMVAs in 2023 for her video for Stone's Right Left Forward.
This year she wrote and directed the film Triple The Vote for Upvote – a youth-led, non-partisan campaign to increase voter turnout amongst young people in the UK General Election. The film was viewed more than 2 million times on social media and through billboards and out-of-home advertising, and featured on David Reviews (Five Stars) and more.
Her new short film Overdrive – in which a woman (played by Wilson herself) fights for control over her body and mind in a metaphorical joyride of speed, stunts, and the relentless intensity of her menstrual cycle – was supported by Arts Council England and charity Wellbeing of Women. The film premiered on Tuesday (November 26th) at the Rio Cinema in London, and is currently being selected for festivals worldwide.
On announcing her arrival at Park Pictures London, MD & EP Fran Thompson says: “Abigail embodies everything that excites us here at Park Pictures London - her singular voice, constant experiments with form and technique, and multihyphenate approach to development and directing make her a truly exciting one to watch. I am immensely proud to welcome her to the roster.”
Abigail Wilson adds: “Joining the roster at Park is an absolute dream. Not only do I get to sit among such fantastic talent, but I now get to work alongside an extraordinary, passionate, and hardworking team. I feel so lucky and am beyond grateful. I can’t wait for what’s next.”
