Director and photographer Joe Howat, the director of a series of acclaimed music videos for Downtown Kayoto, has joined CANADA's roster for exclusive representation, working across music videos, commercials, fashion films and stills.

Howat, born and raised in London, is known for his vibrant and modern work, with innovative technical and production design elements lending a sophisticated edge. His promos for artist Downtown Kayoto - for Lite, Came Thru and Run From You - dramatise the essence of the artist's personal story and emotive lyrics in an imaginative and visually inventive way.

Self-taught and inspired by cinema, with an eye for framing sharpened by his roots in photography, he is drawn to projects with a clear concept that allow him to tell a story through carefully considered visual techniques and nuanced performance. Well versed in the demands of shorter formats, he seeks to strike a balance between immersing viewers in stories and creating the kind of imagery that can capture their attention
quickly.
