London-based editing house Stitch Editing has announced the promotion of editor Max Windows to the role of Partner.
A highly sought-after editor and regular award-winner for his work in commercials, short films and music videos, Max Windows has been Stitch since it was formed 16 years ago.
He started as an assistant editor in the original Stitch line-up - when Leo King, Tim Hardy and Angela Hart started the company - and has now risen to one of its senior roles. His rise to Partner shows Stitch’s mission of developing talent is still very much key to the future of the company.
Windows' work has helped turn the company into the in-demand edit house it is today, picking up wins for Editing at the UKMVAs in 2015, Clios in 2017 and D&ADs in 2021. His short film See It, Say It has also recently been confirmed to be having its International Premiere at the 2024 SXSW Festival, in the Narrative Shorts Competition.
“The best part of working at Stitch is having the freedom to work on what we like; we are all encouraged to work on projects we are passionate about," says Windows. "Having the support is fantastic, and that support works the other way as well and I am always happy to help out with others.
“I have loved working at Stitch, and it is great to become a Partner. I am very much looking forward to seeing how things develop from here and to see what projects are on the horizon."
Tim Hardy, co-founder of Stitch Editing, adds: “Having Max join us as Partner is a proud moment for the entire Stitch team. I’ve worked with Max for many years, and it’s been great seeing him grow and develop into an amazing editor and human.
"At Stitch, we have always been proud of our ability to develop talent, and for Max to make the journey from Assistant to Partner is proof of that. We’re all super chuffed for him.”
