KODE has announced the signing of London-based director, filmmaker and writer, Caleb Femi to the company directors' roster, just as the London-based production studio starts its tenth birthday celebrations. 

A widely successful writer and poet, Caleb Femi was named London’s first Young Poet Laureate in 2016, and he worked to connect and engage with marginalised, disenfranchised young people through the medium of poetry, encouraging them to voice their experiences through a dedicated platform. His 2020 debut book, POOR, won the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. Caleb was on the Dazed100 list of the next generation of creators shaping youth culture. 

A regular collaborator with Virgil Abloh before his death last year, Femi directed Louis Vuitton’s fall/winter 2022 collection film for the designer's last collection - one of many collaborations between the pair. Femi has also made films for Mulberry, TikTok, Bottega Veneta, and NCS. In addition, Femi has directed episodes for the BBC and for the HBO series Industry, written and directed short films for the BBC and Channel 4.

A hybrid creative talent, who uses his passion for words to inform his film and photography projects, Femi is undefined by a particular style or aesthetic. Instead he prefers to take inspiration from an idea or brief and letting this inspire him. He will be working across commercials and music videos at KODE.
