Promonews - 14th July 2022
Top London grading and finishing studio CHEAT is returning to the UK Music Video Awards this year, and sponsoring Best Cinematography In A Video - one of the UKMVAs' most prestigious awards - for the first time.
A long-running partner of the UKMVAs, having sponsored the Best Colour Grading In A Video for seven years in succession, CHEAT is moving to sponsor Best Cinematography at the UK Music Video Awards 2022. The partnership is being announced as the entry period for all awards at this year's UKMVAs - for Best Cinematography and 36 other awards - enters into its final two week period.
"The UKMVAs are always a highlight in the CHEAT calendar," says CHEAT founder and senior colourist Toby Tomkins. "After many years of sponsoring Best Colour Grading we are very excited to sponsor Best Cinematography this year, to show our appreciation for all the incredible DOPs out there creating such beautiful and powerful music videos."
Tomkins launched CHEAT in 2014, and has overseen its growth to being a leading name in colour grading and finishing in London, with a global reputation. Working in all forms of moving image media, from music videos and commercials, to features and TV series, CHEAT's roster of colourists, led by Tomkins, use bold vision, considered innovation, and exceptional craft to deliver exceptional award winning work. This work has been globally recognised at the UKMVAs, BAFTAs, Emmys, Oscars, MTV VMAs, British Arrows, Royal Television Society Awards, D&AD, and countless short film festivals.
"As we continue to grow, we will always stay faithful to our music video roots, providing colour, VFX, and online services for the luminary directors and DoPs who have grown alongside us," continues Tomkins. "We would like to wish everyone the best of luck for this year's awards and hope to see you there!”
