Ebeneza Blanche joins SMUGGLER
SMUGGLER have announced the signing of Ebeneza Blanche to their music video roster, coinciding with the release of their first collaboration, a video for Ghanian artist Jae5, featuring Rema and Skepta.
Based in Amsterdam, having grown up in London, Blanche has been building a reputation over the past few years for stylishly sophisticated work in music videos for Netherlands-based singer Rimon, and branded content for Puma, Elle and others.
In his first project produced through SMUGGLER, Blanche has explored his Ghanian roots in Jae5 video for Dimension, shot on location in Accra in Ghana. It's a photographic piece that shines a light on the city's thriving creative scene, with aspects of modern Ghana sitting alongside tradition in a series of beautifully considered setpieces.
"I am so excited to welcome Ebeneza to the SMUGGLER family here in the UK," says Elizabeth Doonan, SMUGGLER & division7's London-based Global Head of Music & Short Form. "There is a texture and energy to his work that is really special. Alongside that he always aims to work in some depth or cultural symbolism which I can't wait to explore further with him."
