Claudia Dunlop, who worked in production on numerous music videos in the 1980s and 1990s, has sadly passed away at the age of 62, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Working in a variety of roles, including PA, production manager, continuity and location scouting, Claudia worked for leading music video production companies like Oil Factory, Medialab and Aubrey Powell, and with directors such as WIZ, Pedro Romhanyi and Richard Heslop.
The older sister of Adam Dunlop - who became head of production at Oil Factory in the '90s - she worked on some legendary videos of the era, including the WIZ-directed video for Flowered Up's Weekender. Before that, she had lived in Jamaica, working on several feature films in the Caribbean and as a local production contact for British music videos shooting in Jamaica.
"Claudia was incredibly organised and very funny, with a cynic's eye for the humour in any situation," says her brother Adam Dunlop. "She loved film and filmmaking and, until recently was a regular at the BAFTA advance screenings at Piccadilly.
"For the last few years she’d faced up to cancer with her typical singlemindedness. She got rid of it once but it returned in the brain and it killed her in a matter of weeks. It is honest to say that she died without fear, and only a few days after she had her last fag! We're all going to miss her so much."
