Worldwide Production Agency (WPA), leading representatives of film production professionals are partnering with the UK Music Video Awards once again in 2020.

WPA, who represent producers, cinematographers and production designers in the US, UK and beyond, are sponsoring the Best Producer award for the fifth successive year at the UKMVAs - it's their sixth year as sponsors overall - and Barnaby Laws, MD of WPA in London says that he was determined to lend the company's support to an awards show that celebrates the wealth of creative talent behind the camera working in the medium of music videos.

"Having been a long term supporter of Music Video as an industry and the UKMVAs since their inception, even in this crazy year, we felt it was more important than ever to support the awards," says Laws. "WPA are very pleased to back with sponsorship of the Best Producer award - as usual a really strong showing in this category.

We felt it was more important than ever to support the UKMVAs.

"If it wasn’t for the UKMVAs and the hard work that is done to organise them, promos would be in a poorer place. In times like now we need to show case the extraordinary talent that are involved in music videos and this will only help the industry as a whole. Challenging times lead to great ideas and a focus on creativity, with music video at the cutting edge."

The nominations for this year's Best Producer award, and for 36 other categories at this year's UK Music Video Awards, were announced on September 29th - see all the shortlists here

Sadly, plans to stage the UK Music Video Awards this year at the Roundhouse as normal have now been shelved due to the tightening of regulations regarding social gatherings, in order to combat the spread of Covid-19. Instead there will now be a live virtual ceremony, accessed online by a live audience. Details of the UKMVAs 2020 ceremony will be announced shortly.
