Coronavirus update: Henry Scholfield explores passion and procrastination in Caviar Connects workshop

Coronavirus update: Henry Scholfield explores passion and procrastination in Caviar Connects workshop

Rob Ulitski - 27th Apr 2020

Continuing with it's series of workshops that explore everything from directing and commissioning through to meditation and writing, Caviar Connects wrapped up last week with director Henry Scholfield explaining his craft in the aptly-named The Art of Getting Off Your Ass

In an engaging and well thought-out workshop, Scholfield - winner of the Best Director prize at the UKMVAs last year - took cues from his own experience alongside documented advice from creative industry leaders and influencers, focussing on the role of procrastination in the creative process. He began with ideas on how to prioritise and focus on what you want from your career, followed by distraction-busting tips and how to stop making excuses in the face of rejection.

At one point joined by self-proclaimed 'Brother from another Mother' Keith Schofield - also signed to Caviar, where the almost identical surname does not go unnoticed - the informal talk was packed full of helpful info, with a diverse set of questions asked by viewers from around the world.

• This week's set of workshops in Caviar Connects are more focussed upon advice relating to commercials and features, with Anna Arnell exploring scriptwriting for commercials, and Maya Avidov looking at archive footage and how to use it legally within projects - both on Tuesday, 28th April. Instagram
