The SHINY Awards 2020 took place last night (February 25th) in London, celebrating the very best emerging director talent worldwide, with six awards being announced at the event that took place at global VFX studio The Mill's London HQ.

Supported by five sponsors, advertisers, over 100 industry jurors and with worldwide entries from over 600 emerging directors over the last 12 months, SHINY awarded six trophies to five winners on the nighjt that was packed with representatives from ad agencies, production companies, post houses, production services - and included many emerging directors, either unsigned or recently signed and thereby eligible for the awards

Canadian director Farhad Gaderi won the Best Music Video prize for his video for Jordan Klassen's Virtuous Circle. Gaderi was recently signed to Boldly in Vancouver, and the trophy was awarded by Alex Hedges on behalf of Hogarth Worldwide/ Ogilvy.

Other winners were Red Filgate (Best Animation), Cleo Samoles-Little (Best Branded Content), Thessa Meijer (Best Recently Signed Director) and Abdou Cisse who won two awards (Best Drama/Documentary, Best Unsigned Director).
