Homespun Yarns 2019 screening night takes place at Ministry of Sound this evening (Thursday, November 21st). Three final films will be screened and judged on the night at the event hosted by CAPITAL XTRA DJ Remel London, and there is live entertainment from London six-piece Melt Yourself Down (above).

The three films commissioned for 2019 year explore the brief ‘1000 Words’ and invited entrants to work up a story idea based on a single image that had to be central to their concept. The image was provided to Homespun Yarns by photographer Josh Kern through Kodak.

The final films are: Take Me (Claire Norowzian & Catherine Humble), Simon Is A Pr*ck (Amelia Dimoldenberg) and 4x6 (Jamie Gyngell). All three will be premiered at the screening and in traditional Homespun style, the night will be real celebration of filmmaking talent. Those involved in creating the films this year, through their time, expertise and sponsorship are; Kodak, The Panavision Group, Wave Music, Universal Music, Globe, Decca Records, Slingshot, Nineteen Twenty, Freefolk and Big Buoy.

Keeping to the rising talent theme, the screening will be hosted by the brilliant Remel London, award winning TV & Radio presenter and online video blogger with her own weekend show CAPITAL XTRA as well as the lead presenter slot on SKY 1’s What’s Up TV. After the winner is announced the crowd will be treated to a live set from London six-piece, Melt Yourself Down, courtesy of Decca Records at Universal, who said, “the Globe team are proud to be a part of Homespun Yarns this year, supporting tomorrow’s talent in filmmaking. We’re very excited that Melt Yourself Down can join us to play at the screening party - they perfectly encapsulate the spirit of the competition having firmly cemented themselves at the forefront of today’s music innovators."
