Hernan Corera signs to Caviar
Caviar have announced the signing of Argentinian filmmaker and photographer Hernan Corera for commercial and music video representation in Brussels, Holland, Spain and the UK.
Corera was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1983 and has spent the last decade cultivating a powerful and unique artistic vision that spans disciplines and creative projects. Since he first hit the scene in 2007, he has amassed an impressive catalogue of high profile work, not only as a director but also an award-winning photographer and musician.
His film career began as a pioneering music video director in Latin America, earning him his first Latin Grammy nomination for Best Director in 2013. Since then he has brought his bold & ambitious style to the advertising world, crafting heavyweight commercials and stills for the likes of Bankia, Coca-Cola and Rexona; and scooping himself a win at Cannes. In 2016, he finally took home a Latin Grammy for Best Director for his video ‘Gallo Negro’ of IKV. He later won two Gardel Awards.
As a photographer, Corera calls on frequent collaborators, such as Rolling Stone Magazine, to push and cultivate his personal art and fashion projects. Earlier this summer, Vice Studios announced Corera will be directing a scripted Spanish series they are developing with Nicolas Giacobone, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Birdman, titled La Misa del Diablo (The Devil’s Mass). Based on a book of the same name, the story centres around a cop trying to solve the mysterious murder of an Argentine boy.
Alfonso Cazalila, Executive Producer at Caviar in Madrid had this to say on the new addition: “Hernan is so much more than a director; he turns each project he shoots into a unique collaborative experience between client, agency and production company. Not only have I had a great time shooting with him but Hernan has the ability to further develop already fantastic scripts into fresh, fun and edgy standout films.”
Hernan added “It is an honour and a dream come true to be joining Caviar. I see my role as a director not too dissimilar to that of a top athlete, who has been signed to a premier club and is taking part in the European Championships and will do everything in the power to bring home gold.”
