Emil Nava tops most viewed director chart for 2016
Emil Nava is Promonews' most viewed director of 2016 - with over one and a half billion views on YouTube just for the videos he directed that were featured on the website last year.
Nava is the only director to beat a billion views in a Top 10 of directors created from viewing statistics gathered by Promonews on all videos featured on the site in the past year. He also directed the most videos - 10 – but one of those, for Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna's This Is What You Came For, broke through a billion views on its own.
Several other longstanding giants of pop video direction follow Nava in the list, with Director X in second place, Cameron Duddy at no. 3, and Colin Tilley at no.10.
Bouha Kazmi is the other British director on the list as well as Nava, for having directed Zayn Malik's debut solo video for Pillowtalk. Also representing the next generation of pop directors in the Top 10 are Andrew Donoho, Grant Singer and Ben Mor.
