Defunct sign Robert Cairns and Neon Kiss
Defunct Films have signed directors Robert Cairns and Neon Kiss to their director's roster.
Robert Cairns' has worked with artists such as Angel, Lulu James, Little Boots and VV Brown, directing videos for Universal Music and commercials for Saatchi & Saatchi. He studied at FAMU, Prague and continued his education in the UK, where he graduated from the Northern Film School. Recently Robert returned from India, where he directed his debut feature film.
Neon Kiss are a directing duo from London. With an academic background in cultural studies and working in the film industry, the directing duo share a deep interest in music videos and fashion films, looking at the way film as a medium can be used to develop an existing text, and give it new meaning.
As collaborators themselves, working as part of a close production crew and cast is key to developing an emotionally raw and attention grabbing film that will leave you thinking that you should look away, but end up making you want more. Their work includes the short films After The Heat (above), United, The Hics and video for the The L's.
