Colonel Blimp sign Alan Masferrer

Colonel Blimp sign Alan Masferrer

Promo News - 3rd Oct 2016

Spanish director Alan Masferrer has joined Colonel Blimp in London, for representation for music videos and commercials in the UK.

Masferrer is the director of visually imaginative and often surreal music videos for the likes of Basement Jaxx, George FitzGerald, Young Kato, and most recently, for Antony & Cleopatra  - nominated at this year's UKMVAs - and Klyne.

Inspired by the work of Man Ray, Satoshi Kon and Bill Viola, among others, Masferrer's style is steeped in the surreal, often involving the manipulation of the physical form. In the video for Antony & Cleopatra's Love Is A Lonely Dancer, a singer's facial features are memorably emplanted onto a dancer's body; in Klyne's Lend Me Another Name (above), features contortionist Dasha Sovik undergoing an octopus-like transformation.

"We’re all delighted to welcome Alan to the Colonel Blimp roster," says Richard Grewe, head of music video at Colonel Blimp. "Besides being a hyper-talented director Alan is also legitimately one of the nicest people I have ever met. His work speaks for itself and I cannot wait to get started with Alan on the team."

On his signing to the London-based company, Masferrer adds: "Colonel Blimp has always been one of my favourite production companies. Of course they have one of the freshest and most creative rosters, but above all it really looks like a big family, helping their directors to grow exponentially, so I couldn't feel more humbled and excited to join them."
