David Knight - 29th Sept 2016
Hugely experienced director Matt Walker, whose work includes videos for Skepta, Wretch 32, George The Poet and numerous other artists, has joined Kode Media for music videos and commercials in the UK and the US.
With close ties to the UK grime scene, Walker worked with just about every artist in the genre, from Dizzee Rascal to Stormzy. He started directing and editing music videos for Wretch 32, Wiley and Boy Better Know crew in 2009. His most viewed video to date is JME's Man Don’t Care (above) - which now has over 25 million views. Â
Walker has also carved a career in the commercial world, collaborating with brands such as Adidas, KFC, Beats by Dre, NFL, and Selfridges.
On his arrival at Kode Media, Matt Walker says: "It’s an amazing time for me. I really connect with this team because their journey as a company over the last few years has been very similar to mine as a director. I believe we share the same ethos and attitudes and I really think we will make big waves together over the coming years."
