FRIEND sign Ali Kurr and Matilda Finn
London-based production company FRIEND have signed up-and-coming directors Alessandra (or Ali) Kurr and Matilda Finn to their music video directors' roster.
Ali Kurr has been making an big impact as a new director this year with her music videos for Connie Constance (above), Loyle Carner, Palace and Big Spring. She moved into filmmaking, after working as a graphic designer, whilst studying at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
Matilda Finn is both a director and a photographer, who moved into fashion filmmaking before taking her glamorous but dark style, influenced by Asian cinema, into videos for Crosstown Rebels x Al Love, Roxanne Tataei and Patten's Sonne.
Both Ali Kurr and Matilda Finn's work can now be seen at the newly redesigned FRIEND website. Luke Tierney, the company's head of music, says: "We're super excited to welcome the next generation of FRIEND in Ali Kurr and Matilda Finn. Two young directors who already “get it” – Matilda with her unique style and Ali finding those authentic moments in her heightened realities."
