Promo News - 26th July 2016

There’s one week left from today (July 26th) to enter the UK Music Video Awards 2016 – the deadline is next Tuesday, August 2nd.

Entries are being made to over 30 categories this year, as the MVAs covers the best work in British and international music videos by music genre, technical expertise, and individual achievement.

The music genre categories for Best Pop, Dance, Indie/Rock, Alternative and Urban – which include sub-categories for UK, international and newcomer videos (the latter made for under £5K) – have seen entries pouring in from home and abroad. But there’s still time to get your videos in front of the judges.

In the technical categories, there is the usual wide range of awards to celebrate the art and craft of music video production – Animation, Choreography, Cinematography, Colour Grading, Editing, Production Design (formerly known as art direction and design), Styling (including wardrobe and hair and makeup styling) and Visual Effects.

The Individual categories for individual achievement throughout the eligibility period, for Best Director, Best New Director, Best Producer, Best Commissioner and Best Music Artist. The Best Producer award is now open to established producers and executive producer teams.

Additional categories include Best Interactive Video, Best Live Music Coverage, and Best Music Documentary.

Full definitions of all the categories are available at ukmva.com/categories. Submission of entries - either for a video entry, or an individual - is also made at the UK Music Video Awards website. The cost per entry is £70+VAT. Video entries should be work that has been completed and approved by the commissioner in the 12 months from August 1st 2015 to AJuly 31st 2016. For questions about the eligibility of your entry or entries, or any other queries, please contact the UKMVAs team on info@ukmva.com.

After the entry deadline, the first round of judging for the UK Music Video Awards 2016 will begin the week of August 8th. After judging panels meet to discuss the shortlists in the second round, the nominations will be announced towards the end of September.

The UK Music Video Awards 2016 ceremony and aftershow party takes place for the second year running at the legendary Roundhouse venue in London on October 20th 2016.
