One Direction win Best Video Brit Award for third year running

David Knight - 25th Feb 2016

One Direction might be calling it a day, but they won the British Artist Video Of The Year award at the Brit Awards 2016 in London last night for their Drag Me Down video, directed by Ben and Gabe Turner.

It means that 1D have won the Best Video award every year since it returned to the Brit Awards in 2014, thanks to their legions of fans voting for the vidoe on Twitter on the day of the awards.

The Drag Me Down video – produced at Ben and Gabe Turner's company Fulwell 73, edited by Claudia Wass and commissioned by Mike O'Keefe at Sony Music – features the four remaining band members as astronauts preparing for a mission, and was shot at the NASA Space Center in Houston. It pipped videos by Calvin Harris & Disciples, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Little Mix, Naughty Boy ft Beyonce & Arrow Benjamin, Adele, Sam Smith and Years & Years to the award.
