MusicVidFest 2015: Steve Annis and Adam Scarth confirmed for Cinematography panel

David Knight - 22nd Oct 2015

Leading British DoPs Steve Annis and Adam Scarth have been confirmed to speak on the Cinematography panel at the all-day MusicVidFest conference on Wednesday, November 4th, talking about their work, and discussing the importance of shooting music videos as part of their chosen craft.

Steve Annis has been one of the top DoPs working in British music videos in the past decade. Regularly collaborating with directors such as George Belfield, Tom Haines, Vincent Haycock and Aoife McArdle, in the past year he's shot all the videos in Haycock's cycle of videos for Florence & The Machine. He won Best Cinematography at the UKMVAs in 2013 for his work on Jon Hopkins' Open Eye Signal, and is nominated at the UKMVAs this year, for his work on U2's Every Breaking Wave (both directed by McArdle).

Adam Scarth has emerged in the past three years to be a prolific DoP in British music videos, working with directors such as Georgia Hudson, Joe Connor and Fred Rowson. Adam's work in music videos this year includes the Maccabees videos for Marks To Prove It and Something Like Happiness, and Tourist's Holding On directed by Holly Blakey.

Moderated by Ed Sayers – director and founder of the Straight 8 film competition – the Cinematography panel is one of several illuminating sessions on the business of music video creativity at MusicVidFest, which takes place at the BFI Southbank in London on November 4th. Featuring professionals from all parts of the music video production process in a range of intriguing sessions and discussions, more information and tickets at the MusicVidFest website.
