The first round of judging is now open for over 20 awards categories at this year's UK Music Video Awards, with all the entries in the music genre and technical achievement categories being judged by the MVA Jury Membership - comprised of hundreds of music video professionals from the UK and beyond –via the online judging platform.

Each Jury Member has received an email today (August 20th) from Louise Stevens, Event Director of the UK Music Video Awards, explaining the category or categories they've been asked to judge for this year's UKMVAs. They will also be given the criteria they should apply for the judging, and asked to select their six favourite videos per category.

The email will also contain the Jury Member's personal login and password to access the videos on the judging platform - and this will also be their login details when the Individual Awards judging opens to all Jury Members later in September.

Online judging in these categories runs from today (August 20th) until Tuesday, September 8th. Then a shorter list of the Jury Members' favourite videos will go forward to a second round of judging, which will take place in a series of live panel sessions from mid-September onwards. If you are an MVA Jury Member, and have yet to receive an email, get in touch with the UKMVA team at info@ukmva.com.

This year's shortlists for the UKMVAs will be announced in early October, with this year's UK Music Video Awards taking place for the first time at the legendary Roundhouse in London on Thursday November 5th. Tickets to the ceremony and aftershow will go on sale early next month.
