The eighth UK Music Video Awards, dedicated to celebrating the best work in music videos from the UK and around the world, has launched today (June 23rd), with the UKMVA website accepting entries from now until August 5th.

It's the start of a process that will culminate in the biggest night of the year for British music videos in November. And for the first time, the UK Music Video Awards' annual ceremony will take place at legendary London venue The Roundhouse. 

With a wide range of awards recognising innovation, creativity and technical excellence in music videos, once again there are over 30 separate categories that can be entered at this year's UK Music Video Awards, including numerous Best Video and Technical categories, and all the categories for Individual Achievement: Best Director, Best New Director, Best Producer, Best Commissioner and, for the second time at the MVAs, Best Artist.

There are honours for best British, International and Budget video in each music genre recognized by the MVAs – Pop, Dance, Urban, Indie/Rock, and Alternative. As always, there is also a full range of technical achievement awards, including for Art Direction, Cinematography, Colour Grading, Choreography, and Editing. There is a Best Interactive Video award, Best Live Coverage, the Icon Award – recognising an individual’s outstanding career in music videos – and Video of the Year.

There are also two new awards at this year's UKMVAs: Best Music Documentary, recognising the best longform film about a music artist, band or other musical subject or project; and Best Lyric Video, recognising the best work in a music video which features all or most of the lyrics of the track.

With the exception of the Icon Award and Video of the Year, entry to all the awards above is now open at www.ukmva.com, where the work itself can be uploaded. All entered work must have been completed and delivered to its commissioner between August 1st 2014 and July 31st 2015.

Information, criteria and forms to enter a video or an individual to the UK Music Video Awards 2015 can be found here, and terms and conditions for entering the awards can be found here. The deadline for entries for these categories is Wednesday, August 5th.

Following the deadline, all entries in the best video, technical achievement and individual categories will be judged by the MVA Jury Members – invited members of the UK music video industry – via the online voting platform on the website. Then the most popular choices in the first round of judging will go forward to judging panels where juries will meet to discuss the work and vote on the final shortlist.

Nominations for the UK Music Video Awards 2015 will be announced in early October, ahead of the eighth annual UK Music Video Awards ceremony and aftershow party, to be held at The Roundhouse in London on November 5th 2015.
