Katie Dolan has been appointed the new head of Black Dog UK, one of London's top music video production companies and home to a high-powered roster of directors including Sophie Muller, Jonas Akerlund, Adam Smith, Christian Larson, Ryan Hope, Shynola, James Copeman and many more.
Taking over the position held by longstanding head Svana Gisla, who left the company late last year, Katie joins Jacob Swan-Hyam, head of production, and Martin Roker, director's representative, at the Beak Street offices of Black Dog and parent company RSA Films.
Katie's career in music video production started out at Rokkit, before she started producing music videos, short films and other content as a freelancer, and then joining Caviar in 2013 as head of music videos and content.
On her arrival at Black Dog, she says: “The opportunity to work with some of the most renowned directors in this industry is hugely exciting. I’m really looking forward to helping push the creative content coming out of Black Dog - as well as developing and nurturing fresh young talent.”
• Black Dog director Mat Kirkby has been nominated at this year's Academy Awards for his and James Lucas's short film The Phone Call, starring Sally Hawkins and Jim Broadbent. The film is nominated in the Best Live Action Short Film.
