Able&Baker sign Nicolas Davenel
Able&Baker have announced the addition of Nicolas Davenel to their directors roster, the French director behind acclaimed videos for Birdy Nam Nam and Brodinski.
Starting out as an editor, Nicolas made his name as a director with music videos for French hip-hop artists, and gone on to make highly regarded fashion films, online content and TVCs. He also directed Birdy Nam Nam's Defiant Order (pictured) in which a romance is staged within the real life world of a suburban stunt bike gang and Brodinski's 'Dance Like Machines' which steers us through a light-soaked strip club.
Nicolas' distinctive raw style has since lent itself to Parisian art and fashion collective Andrea Crews in promoting their FW 14/15 collaboration with Eastpak. He is now in production on ‘Live Fast // Ride Slow’, a feature doc about US moped gangs.
