CANADA join Riff Raff Films in London

The award-winning Spanish production collective CANADA have linked up with Riff Raff Films in London for music videos and commercials, with Riff Raff playing host to 'CANADA London' in a partnership of likeminded companies.

Responsible for some of the most visually inventive, playful and sexy music videos of the past few years, the Barcelona-based team – now led by directors Nicolas Mendez and Lope Serrano and executive producer Oscar Romagosa - have recently completed the Crème Caramel project for Nowness, the MVA-winning video for Phoenix’s Trying to Be Cool (above), as well as the Coca-Cola 'Pemberton' campaign.

But in addition to the core CANADA team, Riff Raff – headed by MD Matthew Fone – will also now be repping other directors under the CANADA production company fold, included Erik Morales and Yuichi Kodama, and a number of up and coming directors. Morales has recently had a successful campaign for Volkswagen, while Kodama's work for UNIQLO has been heavily awarded. 

CANADA London will join the likes of Megaforce, Jonas & Francois, Nez, The Sacred Egg, and Emile Sornin on the Riff Raff roster. 

“We were very much attracted to the aesthetic of what Matthew has built at Riff Raff," says Oscar Romagosa. "We feel we have found someone who understands what we as a company want to do, not only with Nicolas & Lope (aka CANADA) but also Erik, Yuichi and our new up and coming directors. With what Riff Raff have built they have shown they are interested in developing new talent and keeping the creative content at a level that they are proud to achieve."

“Like most people, I have been a big fan of CANADA for a long time,” adds Matthew Fone. “When I started talking to Oscar and he described that CANADA did not just want to be represented as directors in London, but wanted to partner with a like-minded company it felt we had a common desire straight away. When you partner with people who have the same vision it makes you both stronger and better for it.”
