Here's our first Covid-19-related news round-up, as production companies, labels and freelancers start to adapt to remote working:
Colonel Blimp open office in LA
Tamsin Glasson, executive producer at Colonel Blimp in London since 2009, has now moved to Los Angeles to establish Colonel Blimp in the USA.
She will be working to develop the roster of directors under the Colonel Blimp umbrella and to seek out US opportunities that enable the roster to work across all levels of creative media from music videos, to commercials, online content and live interactive installation events driven by film and music.
As producer and EP, Tamsin has supervised numerous acclaimed music video productions for artists such as Metronomy, Hot Chip, Massive Attack, Passion Pit, and Atoms For Peace (pictured) as well as commercial productions for the brands Converse, O2, Cancer Research, Scottish Government , Nike, and Diesel. During that time Colonel Blimp directors have been honoured with awards including UK MVAs, Cannes Lions, and D&ADs and invited to speak and lead festivals and forums across Europe that serve to provide the industry with inspirational mentors and guidance.
The London based company is now lead by executive producer Paul Weston, head of video Nathan James and music and content head of production Posy Dixon.
"Paul’s exceptional experience converting young directors from the music video industry to the world of commercials is unparalleled in the UK," says Tamsin. "Nathan continues to scout and discover the UK and Europe’s most outstanding young directors and connect them with the leading video commissioners in the UK.
"Posy has worked as both commissioner and producer, agency and client and as such she facilitated some of the most incredibly diverse productions that Vice worked on over the past two years. Her ability to spot new talent and opportunities is unrivalled in the realm of factual, creative content. Her role at Colonel Blimp is to continue to explore and develop both her own commissions and those of brands and labels with and on behalf of the Colonel Blimp directors."
