Able&Baker has announced the signing of two directors to their roster for music videos and other content – Carly Cussen and Ivana Bobic.
Carly Cussen has established herself as one of the UK's top directors in pop, grime and hiphop, with videos for Little Mix, Olly Murs, Ed Sheeran, Diana Vickers, Lemar and more. She made her debut in the music industry at just 17 with a promo for Tinie Tempah, going on to work with most of the artists in the British grime and hiphop scenes.
Following her breakthrough videos for Dot Rotten's Karmageddon and TBRA, which led to her first production company signing, she has moved into mainstream pop videos with Olly Murs' Dear Darlin', Little Mix's How Ya Doin? featuring Missy Elliot, and her recent video for Little Mix's Move (pictured). Recently she has delivered projects with Able&Baker for Lawson guest-starring Kelly Brook as jazz era femme fatal, and an infectious decade-hopping dance video for The Saturdays’ Disco Love.
With a strong visual and narrative style, Ivana Bobic is a director best known for her fashion film work – with global clients including Stella McCartney, Phillip Lim and Adidas – and fiction shorts: her latest short, ‘In The Night’ has screened internationally and has been nominated for best film at the forthcoming NewFilmmakers LA festival.
Ivana has recently completed her first music video for The Jezabels' The End – a wryly comic coming of age love story – and a dreamlike fashion film for high-end Russian department store, Au Pont Rouge – shot in St Petersburg last month.
Joe Walker, executive producer at Able&Baker - the London-based music video production division of longstanding commercials production company and studio Park Village – says: "We're extremely pleased and proud to welcome Carly & Ivana to the Able&Baker family. We're really excited about working together to build on the successes they already have under and developing striking new work for the future."
