It's been a record year for entries to the UK Music Video Awards, and now the judging begins...

The first round of judging has just started for the UK Music Video Awards 2013, with this initial round taking place at the UKMVAs' online judging platform, where all entries to 24 awards categories – including the music genre-based, technical, and best music ad – tv and online awards – will be judged by the MVA Jury Membership, comprised of hundreds of music video professionals from the UK and beyond.

Each Jury Member has recently received an email from Louise Stevens of the UKMVA team explaining the category or categories they've been asked to judge, the criteria they should apply for the judging and asked to select their six favourite videos per category.

The deadline for making their selections is Monday September 9th. A shorter list of the Jury Members' favourite videos will then go through to a second round of judging, which will take place in a series of live panel sessions in September.

The shortlists will be announced at the beginning of October, and this year's UK Music Video Awards will be taking place for the first time at Queen Elizabeth Hall on London's Southbank on October 28th. Tickets to the show are now on sale – download booking forms from the UK Music Video Awards 2013 website.
