UK Music Video Awards 2013: three days left to entry deadline, including eight Technical Achievement awards!

UK Music Video Awards 2013: three days left to entry deadline, including eight Technical Achievement awards!

David Knight - 5th Aug 2013

There’s just three days left to enter work in most of the awards categories at the UK Music Video Awards 2013 – the premiere awards show for music video creativity in Britain and beyond, and the big party of the year for UK music videos.

This includes eight Technical Achievement awards which will honour the creativity and technical prowess of individuals working on a specific music video made in the past year. At least one of those listed on the entry form – including potential recipients, director or production company – must be British, or the video itself must be a UK-commissioned work.

These eight categories celebrating the art and craft on show in specific departments are the same as in the previous two UKMVAs - but the award previously known as 'Best Telecine in a video' has had a name-change: it's now known as 'Best Colour Grade in a video'. Here are all the categories:

Best Animation in a video

Best Art Direction & Design in a video

Best Cinematography in a video

Best Choreography in a video

Best Colour Grade in a video

Best Editing in a video

Best Styling in a video

Best Visual Effects in a video

More information about these categories, and a full rundown of all the categories to enter before the entry deadline this Thursday, August 8th - is at the UK Music Video Awards 2013 website. Among the entries so far received, work in art direction, choreography, styling and visual effects are less well represented, so make sure that outstanding work in these areas of expertise has been entered for the MVA judges’ consideration before the deadline this Thursday.

To enter the awards go to the awards entry page at ukmva.com, and then follow the entry process. The cost is £65 + VAT per video per category. Terms and conditions can also be found there.

Judging for this year’s UKMVAs will begin a couple of weeks after the entry deadline, and the first round of online judging will continue for two weeks after that. Invitations to become Jury Members for this years MVAs will go out shortly after the entry deadline closes.

The UK Music Video Awards 2013 will take place for the first time at Queen Elizabeth Hall in Southbank Centre, London on Octobe 28th - tickets on sale for the show and aftershow party now too!
