The date and location for the UK Music Video Awards 2013 has just been announced - and it's moving to a brand new venue on London's Southbank.

This year's UKMVAs will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, one of the prestigious venues at London's Southbank Centre, on Monday October 28th.

Which means that the first time the premier awards show for the music video industry is moving out of a Leicester Square cinema in London's West End. Instead the UK Music Video Awards 2013 will take place a short distance away in one of the iconic and luxurious venues in central London's cultural hub.

Queen Elizabeth Hall usually plays host to live music and dance performances – which gives the MVAs organisers more scope to add more elements to this year's UK Music Video Awards ceremony. And with a large area for socialising outside the auditorium, it means that the UKMVAs in 2013 promises to be the biggest and most entertaining yet - both the ceremony itself and the aftershow party will be held at the venue.

“We’re delighted to have this opportunity to bring the MVAs to one of London’s most celebrated cultural centres," says Louise Stevens, the MVAs event director. "The potential to introduce new elements to the actual awards show, and to be able to hold the whole event under one roof for the first time in MVAs history, is truly exciting.”

Tickets for the UK Music Video Awards 2013 are also on sale from today (July 24th), and booking forms available for download now at the UKMVAs website.

Meanwhile, the deadline for entry to 26 awards at the MVAs is little more than a week away, on Friday August 2nd, with information about the categories and how to enter also at ukmva.com.
