Ellis Bahl, director of the UKMVA-winning video for Alt-J's Breezeblocks, has joined Colonel Blimp for music video representation in the UK. Ellis collected the award for Best Alternative Video UK at the 2012 UK Music Video Awards last month (below right), for the Breezeblocks video – a skilfully-executed thriller in reverse. It's also one of the most successful videos to have been commissioned through Radar Music Videos, and has reached over four million viewers to date. Previously he had directed videos for NYC-based artists Born Gold and Robin Bacior, and prior to that, studied film at Emerson College in Boston – he was contemporary of Daniel Scheinert and Dan Kwan (the directing team Daniels), and Ben and Alex Brewer (now the directing team, Brewer). Since directing the video for the acclaimed British band's debut single, Ellis has joined Doomsday for representation in the US. His follow-up video was the ingenious timebending video for Walk Off The Earth's Red Hands, and he has also completed a cinematic piece for Only You's Applying Myself. Ellis Bahl showreel here
