A self-taught filmmaker, Alex directed low budget videos for Labyrinth Ear's Amber and Binary's Modern Man (both featured on Promo) and for Fanfarlo and I Break Horses. More recently he's directed two videos for US alternative rock band The Walkmen, for Heartbreaker and Heaven, before making his breakthrough for Mercury-nominated band Alt-J's second single Tessellate - a hip-hop retelling of the Raphael masterpiece The School Of Athens. He has also directed the video for fellow Mercury nominee Lianne Le Havas's Forget.

Together with the rest of the Agile roster, Alex is represented by OBmanagement for the UK and in the US.
