Emily Kai Bock signs to Somesuch & Co
David Knight - 30th Mar 2012
Hailing from Toronto, Emily moved to Montreal, where she co-curated a loft/venue which functioned as a hub for local artists and musicians - and where she met Claire Boucher (aka Grimes). She has collaborated on various creative projects with musician friends and directed videos for Kool Music 5 and Miracle Fortress before the Grimes video, as well as working on documentary and fiction film projects. "I'm incredibly excited for Emily to have joined Somesuch," says Natasha Tan, head of music video at Somesuch. "As soon as I saw her video for Grimes, I knew she had a unique eye that would fit perfectly with the rest of our roster." Emily Kai Bock showreel
