Andy Morahan received a special award for his many achievements in music video direction, at the climax of Plus Camerimage 2011 - the annual film festival that celebrates the art of cinematography - in early December.
Andy was honoured with the 'Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Music Video' Award at the festival's prizegiving on December 4th, for directing numerous music videos including classic Eighties and Nineties videos for Guns 'N Roses, George Michael, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith and others. He was presented with the award by cinematographer Daniel Pearl, with whom he collaborated on several classic promos - including Guns 'N Roses' November Rain.
Andy Morahan was also the Jury President for this year's Music Video competition at the Camerimage, held in Bydgoszcz in Poland - and gave a 'Music Video Masterclass' talk to festival delegates. The Outstanding Achievement honour is the finale of a year which has seen Morahan's 3D JLS concert open at No 5 in the UK box office - and also shoot a George Michael concert in Prague during the artist's current, pan-European Symfonica tour.
