Crystal Antlers 'Two Way Mirror' by Matt Layzell

David Knight - 23rd Sept 2011

We neglected to pick up on the brilliant video for Mazes' Most Days a few months ago - the cartoon adventures of a bunch of skateboarding slackers, directed by Matt and Paul Layzell of Treat Studios - a loose and disparate collective of animators that have come with a prodigious amount of work - TV idents, live visuals, inserts into movies - in the last couple of years, by working on each other's projects.

And it's another banger - a bonkers psychedelic sci-fi thriller, based on Matt's interest in quantum physics (Schrödinger's famous cat makes an appearance). You'd have to be quite clever to follow the science, but you can have no trouble enjoying a eye and earful of this. Great stuff from Matt and other members of Treat - who recently signed to Blink Productions/Colonel Blimp, and were special guests at BUG 27 last night (Sept 22).
